Nature Abounds at Fort Canning Park

A week ago I was at the Fort Canning Park enjoying a leisurely nature walk in the Park. I saw some visitors with a brochure but the walks can be done on your own – plenty of signboards for guidance.

I stopped at Dhoby Ghaut MRT station, turned to Park Mall Shopping Mall, crossed the road and there it was – Fort Canning Park.

Circular view point at end of Tunnel route

I took the tunnel route and upon climbing up the stairs a circular point of view greeted the eyes. Various trails lead to many directions – so pick and choose. Along the way, lots of seats to take a breather. The park seems to be a favourite place for wedding photos. Vending machines are scattered at various shelters – remember to bring along coins. Tin cans cost from S$1.00 plus. Do bring along plenty of water because hot days are here.

There are signboards with explanation on the flora and fauna. For the history buff, there is even a black cannon among the greenery. Why not join the Battle Box tour? Here is a great place to slow down, appreciate nature, history and culture in Singapore.

I started from one end and exited by another way. Walked down the stairs and came upon the MICA building. Colorful windows and doors architecture. Plenty of photography opportunities.
