Cycling from Lorong Halus Wetland to Pasir Ris Park

Cycle from Sengkang, Punggol to Pasir Ris

I made it today, that is, cycle all the way from my home in Sengkang, through Lorong Halus Wetland and onwards to Pasir Ris Park Beach.

It was a very cloudy today, good and bad. Good because there was no hot sun and a good day for cycling. Bad because the photos did not all look good.

Pasir Ris Park Town Beach and Pasir Ris Park Beach are connected by a bridge. From here, you can connect to the Bedok Park Connector Network, Tampines Park Connector Network or even go to Changi Beach and East Coast if you have the energy. At the end of this article, there is a brochure, from the National Parks, on the Eastern Coastal Park Connector.

How to Get Here

From Lorong Halus Wetland, turn to Pasir Ris Farmway 3. Keep left and look out for the entry to the canal. It is a short cut to Pasir Ris Drive 3. The curb along the canal is narrow and only passable for one bicycle one way. There is grass on the right side to turn to if you see another cyclist from the opposite direction.

On arrival to the Pasir Ris Drive 3, there are about 2 or 3 bus stops along the way. Beware of alighting passengers and those waiting there as you need to pass through the bus stops – there is no back lane.

Elias Road is a direct way to the chalets and Pasir Ris Park. I suggest to cycle further via Sungei Api Api Park. Here, the scenery is serene as there is no traffic, just cycling along the river. A private estate faces the river and there are seats along the way if you need a break. Such calm setting.

There is a bus stop here between the track to Sungei Api Api and Pasir Ris Park. If I remember correctly, the bus number is 403. Along the beach, there are toilets and venting machine for soft drinks. Cost about $1.10. Bring along your coins.

Enjoy the ride!
