Filter Magic with Nikon D5100

Today is an extension of yesterday’s post. Still having fun experimenting with the camera in-built camera filter. The best part about this feature – I can choose the color hue of each filter – be it dark blue or light blue, etc.

The purpose was to instill mood. This was taken at about 8.30am. Should be interesting to see the effects taken during dawn. This was a back-lit scene. While the Aperture setting remained at F16 and ISO at 100 constantly, Shutter Speed varied from 1/125 to 1/160 seconds depending on the amount of light coming through. My personal preference nowadays is to shoot vertically because the contrast from sky to the bottom frame is so much more highlighted. These are all in-camera features. Wonder how it will look when using actual color filters. More on that later.

Hi and Hello to all who stumbled into this blog. I am writing about photography experiments for the moment. I will get back to posting on the Punggol Waterway nearer towards the weekend. Meanwhile hope the information here is useful. Cheers!
