Since weekends is spend on posting pictures, here are more pictures from Day 1 of hiking the Queen Charlotte Track. More about hiking the Queen Charlotte Track in Marlborough Sounds, New Zealand in last post.
As a day hiking trip, the stretch from Ship Cove to the jetty in Furneaux Lodge Jetty is an excellent introduction to Marlborough Sounds. As mentioned, please bring along hiking sticks as it is a steep uphill climb. It is worth the climb, I assure you! No pain, no gain. Here is a slide show of the views along the way as you slowly ascend to the lookout platform.
