- Franz Josef Glacier is bigger and have more viewing platforms
- Fox Glacier may be smaller but you can get a much closer view of the glacier
- There are more hiking options in Franz Josef Glacier
- In Fox Glacier, you have Lake Matheson whereas in Franz Josef Glacier you have Lake Mapourika
